Episode #9 – Making a Difference
In this week’s episode of Wise Women Conversations I chat with Kathy Wong who is a true wise woman who is making a big difference in the world. After running a very successful design company Kathy decided to retire and move to the country to relax and enjoy herself, or so she thought. After a few years of country life Kathy started to feel that there was something that she needed to be doing, so she decided to move back to Sydney and that’s where her company Moeloco was born. Moeloco means dream crazy and Kathy had a crazy dream to put shoes on the feet of as many children in India that she could. In India having shoes means that a child can go to school and going to school is a way to end poverty in that country. Since starting her company only 4 years Kathy has provided over 7000 shoes to children in India.
Kathy now mentors other people who want to make a difference in the world, she is helping to establish more social enterprises around the world. Kathy shares that one of the things that helped her the most in making such a big difference in the world is connection and having a purpose bigger than herself.
I think that you will really enjoy listening to this inspiring conversation.
